It can locate short circuits, open circuits or broken diodes, detect phases, and locate hidden wiring or other high voltage equipment. There is a hold function that “freezes” the readings on the screen. It is convenient to use when the multimeter is hard to reach to look at the screen right away, and so you can do it later.
